The Lost is Found

Late this afternoon when we returned to the hotel, they had received word from Alitalia that our Lost Bag (LB) had been found at Charles de Gaulle airport.  Apparently LB was unable to make the connection and then just got lost in the shuffle.  Since we barely made it ourselves, and had to clear customs and go through security again, that is somewhat understandable.  The lesson here is to avoid changing airlines enroute and especially if doing so at Charles de Gaulle.

So, LB will be joining the trip in Sorrento.  It should arrive in Naples tomorrow (Tuesday) around noon, but Alitalia has 24 hours to deliver.  The people here at the desk (who have been extremely helpful) said to not expect it until Wednesday.  We check out here in Capri tomorrow morning and head for Sorrento, so the hotel in Sorrento is where they should deliver it.

Being without this bag would not be so bad except that I did not pack an extra shirt or pants in the carry on.  What I am wearing will be plenty worn by Wednesday!  But, we are really glad to know we will see it again and I don't have to buy a travel wardrobe in Sorrento.

  1. So glad you will see your bag soon! It's times like this that you realize what you really NEED to survive! I'm sure there were many necessities in the bag that you've survived without even though it would have been nice to have! ;)
